Being an artist for over 15 years, I have wished for certain tools to add to my collection. As a watercolor artist I always wanted to have a palette attached to a painting board that I could take to my couch or across the world. With watercolor, you can't successfully paint with an upright easel, you need a tabletop surface. I started getting ideas and from there something magical happened!
Introducing the Daisy Palette Watercolor Board
I hand designed this combined watercolor palette and board made of birch wood.
The process: I have the wood laser cut and then it is shipped to me. I then wood glue the pieces together. Then I sand it and apply a poly stain coat. It then dries and I buff it with steel wool. Then I apply another coat of the poly stain and buff it a second time. I have included 2 process images.
The whole process is an artistry which then is used to create something beautiful by your brush.
It is not only a board but meant to inspire with the words that read,
" this is your space to express your individual and unique style.
embrace and nurture your eccentricities as an artist.
there is no pressure for perfection here.
be brave and follow your art.
you are a rare bloom."
Dimensions 14.5x14.5”
This board is intended only for watercolors, not acrylic or oil paint.
The beauty of it is that you can flip the board so the palette is on the left or right depending on what hand you paint with. Shown in the image would be for someone who is right handed, but rotate it and it works for left handed creatives, like me!
A beautiful gift for an artist or creative and just a hobbyist and/or wonderer.
Includes: The board palette, and 2 bulldog clips
It is a pre-order item because it is a lengthy creation process that requires care and detail. It is available until June 27th for pre-order then the listing closes.
Because it is handmade there will be slight differences in color and texture, it is made by artist hands.
Care:
It has been coated 2x with a polyurethane which seals the wood and keeps out water. I coated it twice knowing it will be in contact with water, to help seal it for a lasting quality and so you can switch out your colors!
So of course you can use water but like with anything wear will happen over time. It will last longer if you use a wet rag to clean out the holes instead of fully immersing the board in water, which I don’t recommend.
