Join me this Spring for a creative session dive into the botanicals natively grown in France. This spring session I want to take you out of the desert and into the world to explore all of the beauty in nature it has to offer. Think of it as an early holiday break. We will focus on a variety of 6 different plants that highlight the French Countryside:
French Peony, French Lily, French Iris, French Hyacinth, Provence Lavender, and Cacti Cours Saleya France ( cacti commonly found in the Market of Saleya, Nice)
The color palette is going to be a mix of rose, deep purple, cornflower blue, deep yellow and various shades of green
All skill levels are welcome!
Suggested materials:
Watercolor paints - mix of rose, deep purple, cornflower blue, deep yellow and various shades of green. If you don’t have the exact colors don’t worry, you can still work with what you have!
Mixing Palette (you can use a ceramic plate or a palette you have)
Brushes - watercolor brush size 6 or 8 round and 1 or 2 for details
2 x Cups of Water, so you can use one for lighter colors and the other for darker colors
Paper Towels
8 Sheets Watercolor paper - I’ll be using my 140lb cold press Strathmore Vision paper but any 140lb/300gms watercolor paper will work. I suggest the 140lb because it helps keep the structure
Scrap watercolor paper, if you have, to test colors
The workshop will be hosted through Zoom and a room link will be sent to the email provided the week of the workshop.
